About Me

Nikki Harmon, an alumna of The Philadelphia High School for Girls, Wesleyan University and Temple University, started her professional life as a filmmaker, television producer and, educator.
Writing began as a personal challenge, specifically, the NaNoWriMo write 50,000 words in a month challenge. She managed to complete the challenge … twice! She does not write full-time, and has not pursued an agent or a publisher but decided to publish the books herself under the name Mt. Airy Girl Press. With the help and encouragement of friends, she has been able to finish the novels and get them out into the world.

Neither Here Nor There is her second novel.

My Other Life

Nikki Harmon is a filmmaker, author, educator and the Program Director for SIFTMedia 215, a cooperative that centers Black and Latinx women-identified independent media artists who work in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.  She has written, produced, directed, and crewed in various technical positions on several documentaries, short narratives, educational and industrial films, music videos and feature-length films. Through Banyan Productions, she worked on three seasons of TLC’s “A Wedding Story” as a researcher, associate producer, and producer.

Nikki has also published two novels, When I Was Your Girlfriend and Neither Here Nor There. Throughout her career, however, Nikki has maintained her commitment to teaching local youth through the Big Picture Alliance and has taught video production as an adjunct at three local universities.
